Robbery and Serious Crime Squad Commander Andrew Marks stated that investigators are aware of the circulation of a video depicting Mr. Baghsarian in distress. The ABC has seen footage showing a man, believed to be Mr. Baghsarian, lying on his back with his hands bound. In the video, one of the alleged captors is seen repeatedly covering the man's mouth and nose, a detail that has heightened concerns for his welfare.

Compelling CCTV footage has surfaced, reportedly showing the vehicle used in the kidnapping and the moments leading up to the abduction. The footage obtained by the ABC shows a dark-coloured SUV being parked outside a residence in the early hours of Friday. Approximately five minutes later, the lights of a neighbouring house, presumably Mr. Baghsarian's, are seen turning on. Shortly after, the same SUV drives to the front of the house, and two individuals are seen exiting the front door before getting into the vehicle and driving away.
Commander Marks acknowledged the existence of the circulated footage, stating, "Look, that's not ideal in our investigations." However, the visual evidence is proving invaluable in piecing together the events of that morning and identifying those responsible.
Neighbours' Alert and Burned Vehicle
It was the commotion heard by Mr. Baghsarian's neighbours that initially alerted police to the unfolding crime. Responding officers quickly identified a dark Toyota SUV as the vehicle used in the abduction. Tragically, the vehicle was later discovered burnt out in close proximity to Mr. Baghsarian's address, a common tactic employed by criminals to destroy evidence.

Despite the grim circumstances, Superintendent Marks expressed confidence that Mr. Baghsarian is still alive. "So at this stage, our view is that he is still alive. Superintendent Marks directly addressed the perpetrators in a heartfelt appeal: "This is a very strange appeal, but we appeal to those that are responsible to release Mr. Baghsarian somewhere safe. Let us know where he is. We're looking to get him the assistance and the medical assistance and treatment that he requires. And we'll do the rest. Let us know where he is. Please."
